The Orange Coast Pirates will head to the 3C2A State Tournament this weekend as one of the favorites after winning the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) and then finishing third at the SoCal Regional this past weekend. The Pirates are led by Hayden Clark, who took home MVP honors of the OEC.
COSTA MESA – The Orange Coast College women’s water polo team knocked the two-time defending champs off of the throne as the Pirates pulled out a 19-15 win over Riverside City College in the championship game of the Orange Empire Conference Women’s Water Polo Championships on Saturday at the OCC Aquatics Pavilion.
The Orange Empire Conference men’s and women’s water polo tournament will start this Thursday at Orange Coast College. The men will open the tournament on Thursday with two quarterfinal games and two semifinal games with the women doing the same on Friday. The fifth place, third place and championship games will all be played on Saturday.
Fullerton College women's water polo head coach Gabriel Martinez reached a monumental career milestone earning his 400th career victory over the weekend playing in the Ventura College Tournament. The milestone win came against Modesto College on Saturday, a 19-4 victory.
The 2025 women’s water polo campaign has reached the halfway point and Orange Empire Conference (OEC) play is under way. The race seems like it could be a photo finish, as a leader has yet to emerge.
